What arrangements are made for the ‘start’ of the Port of Antwerp Night Marathon? You are free to start from the starting section that is closest to your anticipated finishing time. The various starting sections are only accessible via the Napelsstraat (at the intersection with the Londenstraat). Once there, you can cut through one of the side streets to walk to the correct section. This way, all the participants can run at a pace that is most comfortable for them.
For example: If your estimated finishing time is 3:30, walk through the Londenstraat to the Napelsstraat, then turn left into the Indiestraat and take up your position in starting section no. 2.
The course of the brand new Port of Antwerp Night Marathon will take participants on a sightseeing tour through the beating heart of the city of Antwerp. No landmark will be left untouched! On top of this the course will make you discover several hidden gems of the city.
* the course has 180 altitude metres
Starting at the 5K point, we provide a refreshment station every 2,5K and at the finish (water & AA Drink Iso-Lemon) & high-quality provisions at the finish. There are also bananas on offer at kilometre markers 15, 25 and 35.
6 refreshment stations and at the finish (water & AA Drink Iso-Lemon) & high-quality provisions at the finish. There are also bananas on offer at kilometre marker 14,5.
Do you prefer to bring your own drinks? You can hand in your personal drinks between 17h and 18h on the corner of the Londenstraat, close to the start. Our volunteers will distribute the drinks over the 8 different refreshment stations (5-10-15-20-25-30-35-40km).
Tip: Make sure that your drink is easily recognisable to avoid having to find it!
Starting at 16h you can drop of your bag at the sports bag storage tent at Napoleonkaai. When you hand in your sports bag, a sticker with a number will be stuck on your race number. The same numbered sticker will be placed on your sports bag. After the run you can only get your bag back upon showing your race number with this sticker.
Any loose items of clothing or plastic bags will not be accepted. So make sure that you bring a (sports) bag that you can close to store all your belongings in.
Before and after the race you can use the changing rooms of Buurtsporthal Parkloods at Park Spoor Noord (Damplein 36).
The timing is done using an electronic chip. This chip is located on the back of the race number and it measures the net time between start and finish. That means that your time will start to be measured only when you cross the start line. This extra service ensures a more correct time measurement.
This chip is included in the entry fee and does not have to be recuperated after the race.
